MULTIPLE STEPS TO A FINE FINISH

The picture at left is an example of how DOUGCO can put process steps together to create a finished part for our customers. In this example, a machined forging is robotically polished to remove the parting line. The part is then run through a vibratory finishing process with ceramic media (not shown), and then plastic media. A very soft smooth clean surface is created as shown (third from top). The part is then run through our dry finishing process and near buffed look to obtain as shown at the bottom. Alternately, this part could also be finished by burnishing the part instead of dry finishing and by burnishing right after the ceramic vibratory finishing step.
